Leather jacket week: one black biker, six outfits, and nothing you don't already own.
Off-duty is the oldest trick — a plain white tee, mid-wash straight-leg jeans, black low-top sneakers and the cap you never take off. The jacket stays unzipped here; the line of the tee showing through is what keeps it from looking heavy.
Cream on cream is the softest way in: a cable-knit sweater and a brushed-wool A-line midi skirt, brown ankle boots and thick cream socks. Black leather against all that cream is doing the work, so don't add a third colour.
For a smarter weekday, put the jacket over a cream fine-ribbed turtleneck and charcoal wide-leg wool trousers, then black penny loafers, cream ribbed socks and a black wool beret. Same jacket, suddenly grown-up.
On a cold early morning there is nothing to think about: the heather-grey hoodie stays on underneath, with light-wash wide-leg jeans, chunky black sneakers and a charcoal beanie. The hood sitting at the collar is the whole mood.
Dinner out needs the least: a faded black bias-cut midi dress, sheer black tights and black heeled ankle boots. In an all-black outfit the leather is the only shine, which is the point.
And a Sunday with nowhere to be — a burgundy fine-knit midi dress, brown knee-high leather boots, the jacket over the top, no fuss about the rest.
The swaps that keep the week connected: the cream ribbed socks carry the cream look and the weekday one, the brown leather boots carry the cream look and the burgundy dress, and the mid-wash and light-wash jeans both sit easily under this jacket whenever the mood changes from smart to slouchy.
