Plaid shacket weather, so one green-and-cream tartan jacket carries all six looks this week.
The woodland day wears the shacket open over a cream ribbed turtleneck, with a warm brown wool midi skirt, brown leather ankle boots and thick cream socks. The skirt's warm brown is already one of the plaid's own colours.
Quiet minimal keeps everything under it grey and white: a plain white tee, charcoal wide-leg wool trousers, white low-top sneakers and white ribbed socks. Everything else in the outfit stays flat and tonal, which leaves the plaid as the only pattern.
The western day puts the same white tee under the shacket with dark indigo straight-leg jeans, brown ankle boots and a tan felt brimmed hat. Indigo denim is the calmest thing to put under a plaid like this one.
Evening makes the shacket the only colour: a black ribbed turtleneck, black wide-leg trousers, sheer black tights and black heeled ankle boots. Green and cream against all that black read almost like a print.
Grunge wears the shacket oversized and open over a faded black tee, a faded black denim mini skirt, opaque black tights and chunky black lace-up boots. Leave it unbuttoned; the slouch is the point of this one.
The errand morning is cream and sage: a cream cable-knit sweater, a muted sage-green midi skirt, white low-top sneakers, white socks and a cream wool brimmed hat. Cool sage softens the plaid, which suits a slow morning out.
The shacket is the only thing that stays all week. The white tee works under both the minimal and the western day, the brown ankle boots cover the woodland and the western one, and the cream socks move between the woodland, western and errand looks. The charcoal trousers carry the black turtleneck and the heeled boots when the day ends late.
