The LA28 read

Prague is about Davis Cup advancement, not direct Olympic quotas. The tie at the O2 Arena is a high-stakes team event: winning earns the United States an invitation to the Davis Cup Final 8 in Bologna this November, while a loss relegates the team to the 2027 Qualifiers first round. While participation in the Davis Cup helps satisfy international eligibility requirements for future Olympic selection, this tie does not award any individual LA28 quota spots. 1

Copenhagen awards global championship titles and tests championship fitness. World Athletics' road championships provide individual and team world titles across the road mile, 5 km, and half marathon. With Yared Nuguse fresh off an Olympic 1500m bronze and Weini Kelati holding North American road records, Team USA carries significant medal contention. However, road running at these distances is not an Olympic event, and the meet serves as prestige, prize money, and endurance form benchmarking rather than a direct LA28 selection trial. 2 9
