Trader Joe's Family Style Chicken Florentine lasagna is the week's 169-upvote freezer pick
Trader Joe's new $7.49 Family Style Chicken Florentine Lasagna packs 21g of protein per serving and drew about 169 Reddit upvotes—buy one for a weeknight dinner, but plan on more than one box for a real family meal.
The pick
A 2-pound box of Trader Joe's Chicken Florentine Lasagna is this week's clearest new freezer find. It costs $7.49, carries the store's Family Style labeling, and landed in an r/traderjoes New Product Alert 2026 thread that public Reddit listings showed near 169 upvotes and 41 comments on Aug. 26. 12
The practical split is already clear: shoppers who tried it say they will buy it again, while the "Family Style" name oversells the portion count for anyone feeding more than one or two people.
What's in the box
Trader Joe's lists the lasagna at $7.49 for 32 ounces. The noodles are durum wheat semolina. Inside the layers: ground white chicken meat, spinach, onion, a creamy white sauce, and Parmesan and Romano cheeses. Seasonings include garlic, black pepper, and nutmeg. 2
The nutrition panel lists 4 servings of 1 cup (227g). Each serving has 290 calories, 21 grams of protein, 9 grams of fat, and 650 milligrams of sodium. The allergens are milk and wheat. 2
What shoppers are saying
The original Reddit poster said they had already decided to buy it again: "Had this for dinner tonight and I already know I will be buying this again several times over!" 3
The same thread supplies the portion caveat. The poster ate about half the box for dinner and the rest for lunch the next day. One commenter joked that the size was "Perfect size for this family ... of one." Another asked whether the four labeled portions were smaller servings. 3
That pattern matches the label: four one-cup servings, not a casserole built for a full table. Treat it as a one- or two-person dinner with leftovers, or plan on more than one box for a crowd.
The easiest way to try it
Trader Joe's says the lasagna heats in a microwave or a conventional oven. No extra prep is required beyond following the package directions. 2
For a first try, plan on half the box if you are eating alone, or share it as a two-person dinner. At $7.49, the cost of a one-box test is low even if you decide the creamy chicken-and-spinach profile is not for you.
Availability and caveats
The official product page currently shows $7.49 / 32 Oz and asks shoppers to contact store Crew for the latest price and stock. Treat that figure as a reference checked on Aug. 26, 2026, not a guarantee that every location has a box tonight. 2
The acquisition path is the frozen aisle at Trader Joe's. Use the product page to confirm the label before you go, then check local stock if this would be a special trip.
The verdict
Buy one if you want a fast chicken-and-spinach lasagna with real protein and a creamy Parmesan-Romano sauce. The early Reddit reaction is enthusiastic, and 21 grams of protein per listed serving puts this ahead of lighter TJ freezer pastas as a standalone dinner. 12
Skip it if you need a true multi-person Family Style meal from a single box, avoid dairy or wheat, or want a red-sauce lasagna instead of a creamy white one. Buy a second box if you are feeding more than two hungry people.
