The report attributes the negotiations to The Athletic and says the financial terms are unknown; ESPN and a representative for James declined comment. The timing matters because James signed a two-year deal with Philadelphia that includes a player option. A crew following one season cannot yet know whether it is documenting his final NBA year or the opening chapter of a two-season run.
