Mandala #26 — Fe: Hierro (Iron)
Element 26 · Fe · Hierro
Rust orange, forge fire, dark gray
The metal that built civilization — forming earth's core, rusting in rain, carrying oxygen in hemoglobin.
Iron is the most abundant element by mass in Earth. Its BCC structure at room temperature becomes FCC above 912°C. Iron in hemoglobin carries oxygen in blood. Rust (iron oxide) has shaped history — the Bronze Age yielded to the Iron Age when smelting was mastered.
50 Mandalas de Elementos Químicos — a sacred geometry digital art series where science and beauty converge. Each mandala's palette, pattern, and structure is inspired by the element's atomic character, crystal structure, reactivity, and visual identity.
