NFL training camp status board: Kraft, Kittle and Ramsey hit PUP; Achane clears

NFL training camp status board: Kraft, Kittle and Ramsey hit PUP; Achane clears

A July 22-29 camp-only board for fantasy managers: De'Von Achane is cleared, while George Kittle, Tucker Kraft, Micah Parsons, Alec Pierce and key Steelers defenders need monitored draft discounts rather than regular-season injury tags.

The camp report is the injury report for now

Training camp has replaced the regular-season injury report for this week. The NFL's 2026-27 schedule puts the league's Practice Report and Game Status Report in the September 6-12 window, so July PUP, NFI, activation, and workload notes should not be translated into Sunday labels such as Out, Doubtful, or Questionable. 1
This board covers new camp information from July 22 through July 29, using team and league reports published through Tuesday, July 28. The useful fantasy question is whether a player is moving toward a normal camp workload, missing enough work to change his draft price, or creating a real replacement opportunity. There is no game-week start/sit slate yet.

The short version for fantasy managers

  • De'Von Achane gets the cleanest positive update. Miami says the running back is fully available after offseason shoulder surgery and plans to run its offense through him. That removes the immediate camp restriction, but his first team-drill workload still matters before treating him as a full-volume selection. 2
  • George Kittle and Tucker Kraft move into active watch mode. Kittle opened San Francisco's camp on PUP, while Kraft and Luke Musgrave opened Green Bay's camp on PUP. Do not invent a replacement target share from a list designation alone. Wait for route participation and team-period usage. 3 4
  • Micah Parsons is now a real draft-risk discount, not just a rumor. Green Bay placed him on PUP, and the league roundup reported an expected absence into October. That is a defensive-fantasy downgrade and a reason to keep the Packers defense in a wait-and-see bucket until his return path is clearer. 5
  • Alec Pierce has a stated short-term window. The Colts placed him on PUP after ankle surgery, with a return to practice expected in one to two weeks. Indianapolis still has not replaced traded No. 1 receiver Michael Pittman Jr., so Pierce's first practice is more important than the list label itself. 5 6
  • Raiders managers have a Day 1 quarterback order. Las Vegas coach Klint Kubiak said Kirk Cousins is the starting quarterback for the opening practice, with Fernando Mendoza and Aidan O'Connell pushing him. That makes Cousins the early favorite, not a locked-in Week 1 winner. 7
  • Tank Dell's absence from the Texans' PUP list is a positive signal with a hard limit. The NFL's roundup says Dell, who has not played since 2024 Week 16, was not placed on PUP. That means he avoided an opening-camp designation; it does not yet establish a full route load or a starting role. 5

High-leverage status board

PlayerLatest camp statusDepth-chart or fantasy read
George Kittle, 49ers TEOpened camp on active/PUP.Hold his draft value steady rather than fading him outright, but do not promote a backup until San Francisco shows a regular receiving role. 3
Isaac Guerendo, 49ers RBOpened camp on active/PUP.This is a backfield watch flag, not a confirmed workload transfer. Track who gets the second-team and passing-down work. 3
Vederian Lowe, 49ers OTLeft the first practice with a high ankle sprain and is expected to miss extended time. Enrique Cruz Jr. took over his reps. The offensive-line change is confirmed; a fantasy downgrade for San Francisco skill players would still be premature until the replacement holds the job across practices. Connor Colby was described as the early left-guard frontrunner, a separate competition. 3 4
Tucker Kraft and Luke Musgrave, Packers TEsBoth opened camp on PUP.Do not assume a single Packers tight end inherits the full route tree. The first team-period rotation is the next usable signal. 4
Micah Parsons, Packers edgePlaced on PUP; the latest league update put his expected return around October.IDP managers should price in missed early-season games rather than treat this as a day-to-day camp absence. Packers D/ST managers should wait for the defensive rotation to settle. 5
De'Von Achane, Dolphins RBFully cleared for training after shoulder surgery and available for the opening practice.Upgrade from the spring restriction bucket. The first contact and team-drill workload will decide whether the upgrade is complete. 2
Chris Bell, Dolphins WROn the PUP/NFI list while recovering from last season's college ACL tear; no public return timetable.Keep him off early redraft lineups. There is no evidence yet for a route-share projection. 2
Alec Pierce, Colts WROn PUP after ankle surgery; return to practice is expected in one to two weeks. The Colts need his return because Pittman is gone and the team is still evaluating its receiver group. Treat Pierce as a monitored value bet, not a full-clearance call. 5 6
Tank Dell, Texans WRNot placed on PUP despite missing games since 2024 Week 16.A conditional draft-room upgrade. Look for actual participation and a stable receiver alignment before moving him to a weekly start tier. 5
Tim Patrick, Jets WRActivated from active/PUP on July 28; Joseph Ossai was placed on PUP.Patrick can re-enter the Jets' receiver competition, but his career production and role do not make him an automatic waiver priority. The activation is the signal; the rep distribution is the evidence still missing. 8
Jalen Ramsey and Joey Porter Jr., Steelers CBsRamsey, Porter, and Donte Kent are on active/PUP. General manager Omar Khan estimated Ramsey could miss a couple of weeks after a minicamp knee injury. This matters more to IDP and Pittsburgh D/ST projections than to standard offensive fantasy. Ramsey's timeline is clearer than Porter's; neither is a regular-season Out tag. 9
T.J. Edwards, Bears LBStarted camp on the non-football injury list with a calf injury; Chicago does not expect a long absence. Kyler Gordon remains on PUP with no activation timeline.Edwards is a short-term IDP watch. Gordon's unresolved timeline is the more material defensive depth-chart issue. 10

Lineup changes that are real, and changes that are still only forecasts

San Francisco has the clearest early offensive-line movement. Lowe's high ankle sprain forced Cruz into his practice position, and the club identified Colby as the early favorite at left guard. That is enough to track the line, but it is not enough to declare a new season-long starter or downgrade Brock Purdy, Christian Kirk, or another 49ers skill player on its own. 3
Las Vegas has made its first quarterback order explicit. Cousins gets the opening first-team work, while Mendoza and O'Connell are competing behind him. Managers drafting Mendoza for upside should treat the early order as a hurdle, not a verdict. The Raiders still have to show whether the rookie can force a change. 7
The Colts' receiver room is less settled. Pierce is unavailable at the start of camp, and Indianapolis is still considering whether to add a veteran after Pittman's trade. Until Pierce returns, no outside receiver should be described as the confirmed No. 1, and Josh Downs' eventual alignment matters more than a single camp highlight. 6
A positive status can also be too easy to overread. DeForest Buckner has medical clearance to practice after neck surgery, Austin Jackson is fully cleared in Miami, and the Rams expect Byron Young back Wednesday after managing his knee workload. Those are useful return signals, but none proves a full snap count or a completed depth-chart decision. 5 2 11

The community signal is useful, but it is not a depth chart

A July 29 r/fantasyfootball roundup collected early reports that Seattle was giving first-team running-back reps to George Holani ahead of George Price, that Jonathon Brooks looked healthy in Carolina, and that Malik Nabers remained optimistic about Week 1. Those are reasonable names for a watchlist, especially Brooks after the Panthers' tackle uncertainty, but the post is a community aggregation of beat reports and coach comments rather than an official team depth chart. 12
The actionable rule is simple: use the community post to decide what to check next, not to lock in a start, sit, or waiver claim. Look for repeated first-team reps, padded work, and a team-authored practice report before changing a player's role.

Check these signals next

  1. 49ers practice rotation: Who replaces Lowe beyond the first emergency rep, and whether Kittle or Guerendo return to individual or team work.
  2. Packers tight-end usage: Whether Kraft or Musgrave is activated, and whether the other tight ends receive first-team routes.
  3. Colts receiver alignment: Pierce's first practice and the split among Downs, Alec Pierce, and the remaining candidates.
  4. Texans receiver workload: Dell's actual practice participation, not just his absence from PUP.
  5. Raiders quarterback reps: Whether Cousins keeps the first-team unit after Mendoza and O'Connell get live work.
  6. Rams managed workload: Whether Young returns as planned and whether the club continues to limit him.
Until the regular-season reports begin, the best fantasy adjustment is to separate confirmed movement from camp optimism. Achane and Dell have positive availability signals; Kittle, Kraft, Parsons, and Pierce need monitoring; and the 49ers, Colts, Raiders, and Seattle backfields still need repeated rep data before their draft-day depth charts are final.
This is a camp availability board, not a complete Wednesday-through-Friday game report. The league has not yet opened the regular-season reporting window, so the current status calls come from NFL.com, official team reports, ESPN camp reporting, and clearly labeled r/fantasyfootball context.
