Welcome Aboard
Riley lasted six days. Welcome Aboard is her first-person account of the week that undid it: a badge nobody printed, a laptop that never shipped, seven welcome videos watched alone, a stand-up at nine and a sync at ten. The chorus hands the company's own greeting straight back — welcome aboard, a mug, a hoodie, and a family that never learns her name.
The arrangement is bright jangle-pop over a nervous office pulse. It keeps smiling through the verses the way a first week does, then thins to almost nothing in the bridge, where Riley says the thing she can't say to anyone: she didn't quit, she just stopped setting the alarm — and then kept the app on her phone, waiting to be missed.
Listen on a Monday commute, in the ten minutes after a meeting that could have been an email, or on the day the room quietly stops noticing you.
