Boot weather arrived this week, so one pair of brown knee-high boots carries all six outfits.
The grandpacore day is a cream cable-knit vest over a plain white tee, a warm brown wool midi skirt, thick cream socks and a black beret. That white tee turns up again under the black jacket in the punk look when the vest feels like too much.
Soft punk pairs the same white tee with a cropped black vintage jacket, a faded black denim mini skirt, sheer black ankle socks and a charcoal beanie. Sheer socks are the way to wear boots before it gets properly cold.
Winter white keeps all four pieces in cream — an oversized chunky knit, ivory wide-leg jeans, white ribbed socks and a cream wool brimmed hat. The boots are the only dark thing in that one.
Cobalt pleats is the cream ribbed turtleneck with the cobalt pleated midi skirt and cream socks, the easiest new color of the week. The cropped cream cardigan from the dress look layers over this same turtleneck once the evening gets cold.
The work-jacket day puts the muted olive chore jacket over the burgundy crewneck sweater, with a charcoal wool midi skirt and cream socks. Swap that charcoal skirt for the warm brown wool one and the look turns softer; swap in the other direction and it turns darker.
Dress and cardigan finishes the week with a faded black bias-cut midi dress, a cropped cream cardigan and opaque black tights. The black tights and the brown boots are the whole reason this dress reads as evening.
The boots never change, so swap the skirt, the sock or the layer and the same pieces make a different day.
