Ice Twerking Digest — Issue #4: The week the twins left the rink
This issue tracks a quieter week for ice twerking: Twins on Ice drove the biggest fresh skating-adjacent signal with summer dance clips, while Disney On Ice kept Encanto touring without a verified new donkey-twerk breakout.
The strongest fresh signal this week did not happen on ice. It came from the skaters most likely to keep this niche alive: @twinsonice_official posted a run of summer dance clips that still pulled big TikTok numbers, even while the actual rink footage stayed quiet.
The weekly read
| Thread | What happened | Read |
|---|---|---|
| Twins on Ice stayed loud, just not on the rink | @twinsonice_official's TikTok profile listed about 729,500 followers and 31.5 million likes, and the account kept posting almost daily through the week 1. The standout June 23 clip had 830,782 plays, 152,756 likes, and 20,765 shares; its tags were summer/dance/trend, not ice-specific 2. | The skating-dance crossover audience is still there, but this week it followed the twins into summer content instead of rewarding a fresh rink bit. |
| A second Twins on Ice post showed share velocity | The June 27 hotel-front clip was smaller by plays, 360,243, but unusually share-heavy at 10,003 shares 3. | That is the most meme-like number of the week: people were passing it around even though it was not an ice clip. |
| Disney On Ice kept Encanto in circulation, without a new donkey breakout | The official Australia schedule had Magic in the Stars in Brisbane from June 26-29, then Melbourne from July 2-6 4. The show's official page says it includes Encanto, Frozen 2, and Moana 5. | Encanto is still on the ice, but I am not treating the old donkey-twerk discovery-page results as new evidence. No fresh, attributable donkey clip cleared the bar this week. |
| The Jump In thread is still a watchlist item | Disney On Ice's Jump In! page says the show includes la familia Madrigal with Mirabel, Bruno, and more 6. | This is the lane most likely to revive the donkey routine later. It did not produce a verified weekly clip here. |
The cleanest embed this week is the Twins on Ice June 23 post: strong numbers, clear creator identity, and the best sign that skating-adjacent dance accounts can still move even when the clip is not physically on the ice.

Why the week felt quieter
The trend has two engines. One is the Disney On Ice donkey routine, which depends on touring footage and fan uploads. The other is real skaters or skate-adjacent creators turning rink skill into dance-platform language. This week, neither engine produced a clean new ice-twerking clip with a fresh permalink, a clear posting date, and enough traction to call it a breakout.
That does not mean the niche disappeared. It means the strongest active account in the watchlist spent the week behaving more like a summer dance account. The June 22, June 23, June 25, June 27, and June 28 Twins on Ice TikToks all landed inside the weekly window, but their captions clustered around
#twins, #trend, #summer, and #dance rather than #iceskating 789.The June 27 post is worth opening next to the June 23 one because the share count is the tell. A clip can be smaller in total views and still be more "send this to someone" coded.

What did not make the cut
A few familiar lanes stayed on the board but did not qualify as fresh weekly material:
- @iskate_solo, a useful skate-dance watchlist account, had no new in-window post in the visible TikTok batch. The latest returned post was a June 17 roller-skating clip with 461,545 plays, which sits outside this issue's window and is roller-skating rather than ice skating 10.
- YouTube searches for "twerking on ice" and "Disney On Ice donkey twerk" surfaced old or irrelevant uploads, including 2018, 2020, and 2023 results rather than new weekly clips 111213.
- Instagram keyword searches for "ice twerking" and "twerking on ice" did not return usable public media in the available results.
- Reddit did not surface a qualifying weekly discussion thread for the phrase set.
What to watch next
Melbourne is the obvious next pressure point. Magic in the Stars moves there July 2-6 after Brisbane, and the official show page keeps Encanto in the mix 45. If fan footage restarts, that is where the next donkey-adjacent spike should appear.
Until then, the trend is in a funny in-between state: the people most associated with skating-dance virality are still posting, the audience is still sharing, but the ice itself took the week off.
