Anthropic Jun 19: Mythos access is split, not restored
New material signal: Mythos access is no longer a simple on/off story. Reuters, citing Bloomberg, reports that some early Mythos Preview testers kept access after the U.S. order, while broad public Fable/Mythos access remains disabled and enterprise controls are tightening around Claude in Hong Kong.
1) The access map changed
Reuters reports that some firms chosen early by Anthropic to test Mythos preserved access to a preview of the system, despite a U.S. order that shut down other versions. Anthropic's own Jun 12 statement still says it disabled Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all customers and was working to restore access. 12
2) The exception appears selective
The reported split is inside Project Glasswing: Reuters says Mythos Preview had been limited to about 200 organizations; Dragos and Cisco confirmed to Bloomberg that they retained access, while ENISA was told it would no longer receive access and is still in discussions with Anthropic. 1
3) Banks are treating Claude as a deployment-risk question
Separately, Reuters reports that JPMorgan removed Claude from its approved tools for Hong Kong staff after reviewing Anthropic licensing terms, following a similar Goldman Sachs move in April. That makes the practical impact broader than model availability: enterprise risk teams are now part of the access story. 3
