Five IKEA New Arrivals for Small Flats (Oct. 19): a 98 cm Monitor Stand, a Bed With Drawers and Three More
Five of IKEA's newest listings for the week of 19 October 2026 - a 98 cm monitor stand from the IKEA and Xbox collection, a bed frame with two drawers underneath, a fabric swivel chair, a handwoven jute basket and a bamboo plant mover - with published prices in up to four markets, exact dimensions and the assembly and ownership watch-outs for each.
Five of IKEA's newest listings suit a small flat: a monitor stand that lifts a screen off the desk, a bed with two drawers underneath, an office chair, a jute basket, and a plant mover for a heavy pot.
All five were read on IKEA's US, UK, Japan and Sweden listings on 19 October 2026, at the top of the new-arrivals feed 1.
One collection here carries a published launch date. IKEA and Xbox announced YXSTABY on 26 August 2026 2, and the American listing for its monitor stand gives stores from 1 October and online from 20 October 3.
IKEA's product pages give a price, a size and a manual. A first-stocked date is the one field they leave out, so a live New badge marks an item in its first season 1.
The other four picks are therefore current-New listings rather than proven arrivals. Store stock keys to the postcode you enter at checkout.

1. YXSTABY gaming monitor stand
The stand lifts the screen 16 cm and opens the desk underneath. The space below takes a keyboard, a laptop or the accessories that were on the desktop.
It is one of nine pieces IKEA designed with Xbox, announced as a collection on 26 August 2026 2.
- Best for: a 100 cm desk in a studio flat, where the monitor and the keyboard currently compete for the same square of surface.
- Decision: Buy it if the screen sits on a tabletop that has run out of depth. Skip it if the desk is shallower than 27 cm, or if the screen is wider than one large monitor: IKEA sizes it for one large screen or two 24-inch ones 3.
- Price and regional status: $39.99 in the United States under 806.200.01 3, £25 in the United Kingdom 4, ¥4,999 in Japan under 706.200.06 5 and 349 SEK in Sweden 6. The American page dates it: stores from 1 October 2026, online from 20 October 2026 3.
- Key specifications: Width 98 cm, depth 27 cm, height 16 cm; maximum load 20 kg per shelf; a particleboard top with melamine foil on steel side panels and holders; designed by R Whitaker and M Hausmann 3.
- Assembly watch-out: One pack of 6.2 kg and the manual AA-2649753-2-100 16. Owners rate it 4.1 from 17 reviews; one says a few screws would not go in because the holes were misaligned, then adds that the stand holds without them 3. Measure before ordering: the same review opens by telling buyers to check the size, because the stand is tall and wide for a desktop.

2. STORKLINTA bed frame with 2 storage boxes
A small flat cannot divide its bedroom from everything else. These two drawers measure 90 × 60 × 13 cm inside, which holds bedding or a suitcase.
STORKLINTA is a new series: Britain and Sweden sell the bed frame, and Britain and Japan sell matching chests of drawers 7.
- Best for: a studio or one-bedroom flat where the bed is also the wardrobe overspill.
- Decision: Buy it if you can give up 12 cm of floor at the foot or side of the bed for a drawer to roll out. Skip it if nobody can help you: the four packs total 71 kg, the heaviest is 22 kg and the longest is 195 cm 7.
- Price and regional status: £229 for a standard double in white with two boxes under 296.267.75, and £244 with four boxes 17, both in the United Kingdom 7. Sweden sells the same frame with two boxes at 2,595 SEK in 120 × 200 cm 8 and 3,795 SEK in 180 × 200 cm 18. No American or Japanese bed frame in this series was listed.
- Key specifications: Width 144 cm, length 199 cm, headboard 101 cm, footboard 39 cm; mattress 135 × 189 cm; each drawer 90 × 60 × 13 cm inside; particleboard and fibreboard with acrylic paint, a laminated veneer midbeam and Luröy slats; felt strips are included for the centre beam 7.
- Assembly watch-out: Four packages of 20.0, 22.0, 19.3 and 10.0 kg, and two manuals, AA-2614403-2-100 for the frame and AA-2614642-3-100 for the boxes 1920. Owners rate it 4.7 from three reviews, which is a thin sample for a purchase this size 7.

3. SPELBREDD swivel chair
The chair problem in a small flat is where it goes when nobody is working. This one is a full office chair with a fabric cover, so it reads as seating rather than equipment.
It comes with a 10-year guarantee and is rated for business use 9.
- Best for: a desk that sits in the main room, where a black mesh chair would be the only office object in sight.
- Decision: Buy it if you want lumbar support, a tilt lock and a washable cover at one price. Skip it if you need a headrest or armrests: this chair has neither 9.
- Price and regional status: ¥19,990 in Japan under 896.236.89, tax included 9. Searches of the American, British and Swedish listings returned no SPELBREDD chair in this form, so Japan is where this pick can be bought.
- Key specifications: Width 67 cm, depth 67 cm, maximum height 104 cm; seat 53 × 41 cm, adjustable from 43 to 53 cm; tested for 110 kg; high-back shell in layer-glued veneer and polyurethane foam under a dope-dyed GUNNARED polyester cover, 90% recycled; aluminium legs on a steel mechanism; 10-year guarantee 9.
- Assembly watch-out: Three packages of 5.25, 1.95 and 4.22 kg, with the manual AA-2685023-2-100 for the seat shell and a separate sheet for the castor base 21. The listing carried no owner reviews in Japan when it was read, so the fit and the build rest on IKEA's own specification.

4. KÄLKEN basket, jute
Washing has to live somewhere between the bathroom and the machine. This basket holds a full load, stands on the floor unsupported, and carries by two handles.
It arrives finished, which makes it the one pick here that needs no tools 11.
- Best for: the 46 cm of floor beside a wardrobe, a bathroom door or a washing machine.
- Decision: Buy it if the alternative is a pile on the floor or a plastic bin you would rather hide. Skip it if wet washing may land in it: IKEA's care note says to wipe it clean and never wash it 10.
- Price and regional status: $31.99 in the United States under 606.240.38, listed there as 18 inches across and 11¾ inches high 11, £17 in the United Kingdom 10 and 199 SEK in Sweden 12. Japan listed no KÄLKEN basket when it was checked.
- Key specifications: Diameter 46 cm, height 30 cm, 1.45 kg; handwoven jute with a polyester thread; two handles; colour varies from basket to basket because jute is a natural fibre 11. The same weave comes as a hanging basket, £7 in Britain 22.
- Assembly watch-out: None: the basket ships as one piece and needs nothing but a floor. Owners rate it 4.3 from four reviews in the United States and left no review in Britain or Sweden, so the four ratings are all there is to go on 11.
- Get it: View the KÄLKEN basket on IKEA UK.
5. DAKSJUS plant mover, bamboo
A large pot in a small flat becomes furniture: it stays where it landed, and the floor beneath it goes out of reach. This platform turns the pot into something that rolls.
Two of the four castors lock, so the plant sits still where you park it 13.
- Best for: a plant that needs the light of a window in winter and the shade of a wall in summer, in a room where you cannot lift it.
- Decision: Buy it if the pot is heavy and the walkable floor is small. Skip it if the pot is wider than 24 cm: IKEA sizes the platform for indoor pots up to that width 13.
- Price and regional status: £12 in the United Kingdom under 406.243.55 13, ¥2,499 in Japan under 006.243.57 14 and 119 SEK in Sweden under 406.243.55 15. The American site listed DAKSJUS plant stands when it was checked, and a plant mover only in the other three markets.
- Key specifications: Diameter 27.5 cm, height 7.5 cm, weight 0.79 kg, maximum load 35 kg; bamboo with a clear acrylic lacquer on a galvanised steel and plastic castor set; holds pots up to 24 cm across; designer Anna-Maria Nilsson 13.
- Assembly watch-out: The manual is AA-2622707-3-100 and the only step is fitting four castors to the platform 23. The British listing carried no owner reviews when it was read, so the load rating of 35 kg is IKEA's own figure.

Choosing for your floor plan
When only one of these will fit this month, the gap that annoys you most decides:
- A desk with no space left on it: the YXSTABY monitor stand, which moves the screen up and the keyboard under 3.
- A bedroom with no storage: the STORKLINTA frame, if you can find a second person for the build 7.
- A chair that stays in the living room: the SPELBREDD, in Japan 9.
- A pile of washing on the floor: the KÄLKEN basket, which needs no tools 10.
- A pot you cannot lift: the DAKSJUS mover, at £12 13.
Where the table is thin
The SPELBREDD chair and the DAKSJUS mover had no owner reviews at all when they were read, so both rest on IKEA's own specification. The KÄLKEN basket had four reviews and the STORKLINTA frame three, which is thin for an item this heavy.
Four of the five are sold in fewer than four markets. The SPELBREDD chair is a Japanese listing and the STORKLINTA frame a British and Swedish one, so the gaps in the table mark where a reader cannot buy that pick at all.
All prices were read from IKEA's listings on 19 October 2026 and are the company's published figures for that date. Store stock still depends on the postcode you enter at checkout.
