The frontier is moving into the workflow: the latest moves are about context, process, data custody, and power around the model.

Meta's product move. Meta launched a dedicated Mac app that can use a shared window, dictate across apps, connect to Google Workspace, and turn business and web context into decks, documents, and spreadsheets.12

The evaluation move. Apodex introduced TRACES, a benchmark that puts AI in executable scientific environments. It scores tool use, error repair, competing hypotheses, evidence, scope, and the full trajectory alongside the final outcome.34

The enterprise-safety move. Reuters reports that Anthropic plans a safety system later this year that would keep a 30-day business-data retention rule while letting customers store the retained data on their own cloud infrastructure. The plan comes from a source familiar with the matter, so the rollout is still reported rather than confirmed.5

The governance move. OpenAI launched AI Futures, the blog of its Strategic Futures team, to study how free societies can preserve individual rights and agency as transformative AI arrives. The post argues that concentration of power is a central long-run risk and says the team will publish research across policy, economics, law, history, machine learning, and forecasting; it also says the views are the author's, not necessarily OpenAI's organizational position.6
