SF Bay Area Events: Sat Evening + All of Sunday
Saturday evening stacks Japanese cinema (Nippon Vibes: Rashomon + Monster at Japantown), four SF DocFest films at the Roxie, three comedy club shows, and hackathon status updates. Sunday anchors on the free Chinatown Cultural Festival (Grant Ave, 10 AM–4 PM), the SoMa Costco Dog Hard Tech Meetup (345 going), Web Data UNLOCKED Day 2 prize ceremony, nine DocFest screenings, and five free Golden Gate Park events.
Saturday daytime belonged to the hackathons and Porchfest. The evening pivots: four hackathons are now full or closed to new registrants, and the calendar hands off to comedy clubs, Japanese cinema in Japantown, and the final rounds of the SF DocFest. Sunday stacks a free Chinatown street fair on Grant Avenue (10 AM–4 PM), three overlapping free events in Golden Gate Park (chalk art, Symphony, Mango Party, Reggae in the Park), ten film screenings across two Roxie venues, and a hard-tech meetup at the SoMa Costco food court.
Coverage: Saturday, May 30 evening (5 PM onward) and Sunday, May 31, 2026.
