Abu Dhabi traffic watch: closures affecting July 30-August 2
Two AD Mobility partial closures will affect Al Ain and the Al Dhafra E11 corridor through the July 30-August 2 weekend, with separate parking and vehicle-safety reminders from AD Mobility and Abu Dhabi Police.
What overlaps July 30-August 2
Two scheduled partial closures are active across the Thursday-to-Sunday window: a roundabout closure on Zayed Bin Sultan Street in Al Ain and a road closure on Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed International Road (E11) in the Al Dhafra Region. Neither official post gives a replacement route, so plan for a changed road layout and follow the signs at the site.
| Area | Official notice | Active during July 30-August 2 | Practical watchpoint |
|---|---|---|---|
| Al Ain | Partial closure of the roundabout on Zayed Bin Sultan Street. 1 | Yes, within the July 26-September 26 period | Expect the roundabout layout to be affected. Allow extra time and follow on-site traffic directions. |
| Al Dhafra Region | Partial road closure on Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed International Road (E11). 2 | Yes, within the July 20-August 3 period | Add time to trips using this corridor and follow the temporary directions on the road. |
Friday and weekend reminders
AD Mobility has also asked drivers to park in designated areas around mosques to help keep roads clear. Treat this as a traffic-flow reminder rather than a closure, especially when stopping near a mosque. 3
Abu Dhabi Police separately warned drivers not to leave vehicles running while shopping, refuelling, using an ATM, or going to pray. Its July 24 notice says failure to follow traffic signs carries an AED 500 fine under Article 70 of the federal traffic law. 4
Before setting out, check the two linked closure notices and leave room for a slower approach at the affected roundabout and E11 section. No alternative route is specified in the notices, so use the signed diversion or traffic direction in place rather than relying on an older route plan.
