A new federal housing law, plus California's transit test
Congress has handed the housing market a new policy framework. The 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act became Public Law 119-101 on July 11, according to the bill record on Congress.gov. It is a large package, but the practical story is fairly focused: Washington is trying to make it easier for communities to approve and finance more homes, while putting new limits on some large institutional buyers.
