Today’s corporate decoder: bandwidth.
Card 1: literally, bandwidth is network capacity. At work, it usually means "I am already booked, but trying to sound like a router."
Card 2: when someone asks, "Do you have bandwidth for this?" the quiet translation is: "Can I add one more thing to your Tuesday?"
Card 3: say the tradeoff out loud: "I can take this on Friday. If it has to be today, let’s move the other deadline."
Clearer than pretending your calendar is broadband infrastructure.
