Short Drama Daily Top 10 — May 27, 2026

On May 27, the Hongguo 热播榜 recorded something unprecedented in this channel's two weeks of coverage: AI-animated dramas (漫剧) swept all five verified heat-score positions, led by a fantasy xianxia series that has now held the top spot for at least five consecutive days. True-person dramas remain active on cross-platform charts but are being squeezed out of the Hongguo app's own heat ranking by a wave of serialized AI productions. Meanwhile, the industry context turned hostile for creators on the same day: Hongguo's per-10,000-play revenue was widely reported to have collapsed from ¥30–100 in 2025 to ¥5–10 in May 2026, and its AI screenplay guarantees are being cut.

#1 — 山海藏墟，无眼窥天 (Shān Hǎi Cáng Xū, Wú Yǎn Kuī Tiān) Hongguo 热播榜 champion for at least 5 consecutive days 2. The story follows Li Guanqi, a blind youth who was adopted after childhood hardship, joins Daxia Sword Sect at 14, and awakens a top-tier spiritual root — the conceit being that blindness grants him access to heavenly secrets ordinary people cannot perceive. In a week when the chart is crowded with AI productions, this entry stands apart: reviewers specifically cite its character artistry (fine line work, rich lighting layers) and fluid combat sub-shots as comprehensively outperforming every other AI-animated title currently on the chart. Its Hongguo heat score of 6,841 万 sits roughly 1,200 万 above #2, a margin similar to what true-person dramas enjoyed at their peak earlier in May.

#2 — 别人赶海靠运气，我靠系统报点发家致富 (Biérén Gǎn Hǎi Kào Yùnqì…) A "rebirth + system" AI animated drama with an unusually grounded setting: modern CEO Li Shao'an reborn into 2009, saddled with a million-yuan debt, activates a fish-catch coordinate system to become rich. The 2009 setting tightens the internal logic (real-world seafood geography, the early internet era), and reviewers highlight the unusually high praise-to-bookmark ratio. At 5,634 万, this is the strongest debut of the week among new AI productions.

#3 — 万妖图录传第五季 (Wàn Yāo Túlù Zhuàn S5) The fifth installment in a long-running AI xianxia IP. Protagonist Jiang Yuechu is reborn as a girl in Tang Dynasty China, gains monster powers by painting defeated creatures into the Ten Thousand Monsters Catalog. A massive accumulated fan base props the fifth season at 5,631 万 — only 30 万 behind the new entry at #2, suggesting the IP's long-tail loyalty remains formidable even without fresh premiere momentum.

#4 — 八年质子归京，岂知天下已刻吾名 (Bā Nián Zhìzǐ Guī Jīng…) A court-power + xianxia hybrid: sixth prince Meng Chen inherits an immortal cauldron, is sent as a hostage to an enemy state for eight years by scheming princes, returns to marry Daxia's top female war god, and finally reveals overwhelming strength. The "pre-set humiliation → triumphant face-slap" structure is a reliable Hongguo formula. Heat: 5,577 万.

#5 — 离婚认亲记 (Líhūn Rèn Qīn Jì) Urban AI-animated cool drama: 30-year-old Jiang Yi loses his job and marriage simultaneously, then discovers his biological father is a business tycoon. Pure system-enabled counterattack. Reviewers call the pacing "reasonable and dense with cool points" — praise that signals solid execution rather than originality. At 5,511 万, it edges into the TOP5 with the smallest margin (66 万 above #5–6 boundary).

#6 — 姐，他真是我姐夫 (Jiě, Tā Zhēn Shì Wǒ Jiěfū) Starring 韩雨彤 and 沉思 (director Chen Si, who held both #1 and #2 simultaneously in the May 25–26 period). This modern urban romance held #2 on the cloud chart for at least two consecutive days. With its recent trajectory, it is the highest-ranked true-person drama on the consolidated list today and remains the standard-bearer for live-action on Hongguo in the face of the AI sweep.

#7 — 复燃 (Fù Rán) Starring 邓灵枢 (Deng Lingshu) and 王凯沐 (Wang Kaimu) — the 沐灵 CP reunion that powered a strong debut at #4 on May 24 (6,641 万 on day 2). By May 25 it ranked #3 on the cloud chart. Day 5 as of May 27; some natural heat decay from the premiere spike is expected, but the CP fandom continues driving repeat viewership.

#8 — 鱼群跟着游向陆地 (Yú Qún Gēnzhe Yóu Xiàng Lùdì — "Fish Follow the Tide to Land") The most-discussed drama of the week for a different reason: it simultaneously topped the Hongguo new-drama chart and Tencent Video's vertical-screen drama chart within its first week on air (launched May 20) 3. Directed by Zhou Jiuqin (who directed 《江南时节》), starring 赵夕汐 and 黑泽, and adapted from a Douban Reading IP. Rare true-person realism: kindergarten teacher × fish-market shop owner in Shunde, Guangdong. Reviewers contrast it with the fantasy/cool-drama majority: "two normal people having a healthy romance — still wildly interesting." The dual-platform topping and its joint production by Hongguo, Tencent Video, and NetEase Ling-sheep signal a new model of long-short platform cooperation.

#9 — 七日蛇缠 (Qī Rì Shé Chán) AI animated fantasy / urban hybrid that appeared in the cloud chart TOP10 on May 25. Limited metadata available; its sustained presence across multiple days suggests steady midfield performance rather than a flashy premiere.

#10 — 百岁永生 (Bǎi Suì Yǒng Shēng) AI animated historical/immortality-themed drama confirmed in the cloud chart TOP10 on May 25. Similar to #9: a solid AI production maintaining chart residency without standing out in reviewer commentary.

1. AI animation's first total sweep of the Hongguo 热播榜 TOP5. For the first time in this channel's tracking period, every confirmed heat-scored position on the Hongguo 热播榜 belongs to an AI animated drama. Prior weeks showed AI titles rising to #3 or appearing in the TOP5 (e.g., 山海藏墟 at #5 on May 25, then #3 on May 24's cloud chart), but true-person dramas like 爱在久别重逢时, 沉乔未晚, and 姐他真是我姐夫 always held at least two spots. Today, the app-specific heat signal is entirely AI. This is a structural inflection, not a one-day blip: 山海藏墟 has now held #1 for at least five days, and the four dramas behind it are all AI productions with heat scores bunched within 1,330 万 of each other.

2. The economics and the chart are pointing in opposite directions. On the same day the Hongguo 热播榜 posted its most AI-dominated result, multiple industry reports confirmed that Hongguo's per-10,000-play payout for AI animated content dropped from ¥30–100 (2025) to ¥5–10 (May 2026) 4, and its AI-screenplay guarantee scheme is being partially withdrawn 5. AI dramas dominate viewership precisely as their monetization collapses — suggesting Hongguo is deliberately squeezing margins while audiences still consume the format. Creators who were drawn in by guarantee income are now exiting; the remaining supply comes from studios that can operate at the new, lower-margin level.

3. Cross-platform realism as the counterweight. Even as AI animation sweeps the Hongguo-native ranking, the most culturally resonant drama of the week is 鱼群跟着游向陆地 — a true-person, low-fantasy, realism-first production that simultaneously topped Hongguo's new-drama chart and Tencent Video's vertical-screen chart. The drama sparked unusually substantive comment-section debates (not just "so sweet" reactions but parenting-philosophy and career discussions), which reviewers cite as evidence that "short drama logic has changed." One week in, it has already become the reference point for what quality realism looks like in the format — a data point that producers, platforms, and industry watchers will track through June.
