Cracker Barrel's CEO exit has revived a fight over whether customers forced a brand reset or whether the logo became a proxy for broader restaurant problems.
Cracker Barrel said Julie Masino will step down as CEO on Aug. 10, with David Deno succeeding her; Masino will remain as an adviser through Oct. 9. 1
The documented reset came after the company withdrew its new logo and retained its "Old Timer" character in August 2025. 2 When the company later reported traffic pressure and dropped a more-modern store rollout, the broader business context made the causal question harder to settle. 3
