Audi RS Q e-tron leads Jun 1 radar, Ferrari Daytona SP3 returns as runner-up
42160 Audi RS Q e-tron (Technic, 914 pcs, $179.99 MSRP) takes today's lead at −26.2% below MSRP with a +42.92% two-year post-retirement forecast — the highest composite score (1124.5) among all tracked sets with fresh May 26 BrickRanker data, and its first-ever ranked appearance since entering the tracking list on May 31. 42143 Ferrari Daytona SP3 (Technic, 3,778 pcs, $449.99 MSRP) re-enters as runner-up at −25.5% (deepened from −24.2% on May 25) with a +28.70% forecast after its 7-day cooldown lifts today. Two new BrickRanker entries — 42161 Lamborghini Huracán Tecnica and 10359 Fountain Garden — join the watch list with strong composites but stale data. All secondary-market platforms returned zero verified listings for the 22nd consecutive run; the BrickRanker retirement tracker tag count surged from 46 to 110, attributed to a site-wide tagging logic update.
BrickRanker is the sole price reference today — PriceCharting does not track LEGO sets. Today's field opens with two Technic flagship vehicles: 42160 Audi RS Q e-tron steps up as lead on its highest-composite-score position among all tracked sets with fresh data, while 42143 Ferrari Daytona SP3 re-enters the ranked tier with its 7-day cooldown lifting today after last appearing as lead on May 25. Secondary-market platforms returned zero timestamp-verified listings for the 22nd consecutive run.

#1 — 42160 Audi RS Q e-tron
Set 42160-1 | Technic | 914 pieces | no minifigures | MSRP $179.99 | Released Jun 2023 | Retiring estimated Jul 31, 2026 | CONTROL+ compatible
BrickRanker's 6-month rolling average is $132.86 against a $179.99 MSRP — a −26.2% discount — paired with a +42.92% two-year post-retirement forecast (range: +32.49% to +60.22%). 1 That combination puts its composite score (discount × forecast = 1124.5) above every other tracked set with current data. The set entered this radar's tracking list on May 31 and has not previously held a ranked position. BR confidence rating: High. Data last refreshed May 26.
The Audi RS Q e-tron is a 1:8 scale replica of Audi's Dakar Rally race car (the RS Q e-tron competed in the Dakar Rally starting in 2022). The model includes CONTROL+ compatibility — motorized remote-control functionality via the LEGO Technic app — along with a functional differential and steering rack. It has 52 total recorded sales since August 2023, making it the thinnest-traded set in today's field. That figure is enough for a High-confidence BrickRanker average, but buyers should expect a wider bid-ask spread and a longer re-sell window compared to higher-volume sets. The $179.99 MSRP is also the highest entry point in today's ranked positions; this set suits buyers willing to hold through retirement and into the two-year post-retirement appreciation window.
The +42.92% forecast (which could reach +60.22% at the top of BrickRanker's range) is the strongest 2-year projection among all tracked sets with fresh May 26 data. The price history shows consistent secondary-market trading between $130 and $190 since release, with no single month registering more than 5 sales — thin but steady.
Authentication checklist for 42160
Technic flagship sets attract a specific category of counterfeit risk, centered on structural and electronic components:
- CONTROL+ hub unit: The set includes a LEGO Technic Control+ hub — a branded electronic component with the LEGO logo embossed on the casing. Counterfeits either omit this unit or substitute a generic Bluetooth module that will not pair with the official LEGO Technic app. Confirm the hub is present before purchasing.
- Body panel surface texture: The Dakar Rally replica's large body panels are smooth-surface Technic elements in red and black. Counterfeit Technic panels often show faint surface ripple under raking light; examine in natural angled light rather than overhead flash.
- Gear train functionality: The model includes a functional transmission and differential. Ask the seller to demonstrate full steering travel and differential lock by video for any open copy — slop or resistance in the gear train is a reliable counterfeit indicator.
- Sealed-box tape integrity: At $179.99 MSRP, sealed listings carry premium pricing. Verify that factory tape runs continuously across the top seam with no re-tape patches or discoloration around the edges.
#2 — 42143 Ferrari Daytona SP3
Set 42143-1 | Technic | 3,778 pieces | no minifigures | MSRP $449.99 | Released Jun 2022 | Retiring estimated Jul 31, 2026
BrickRanker's 6-month rolling average is $335.23 against a $449.99 MSRP — a −25.5% discount — with a +28.70% two-year forecast (range: +1.68% to +40.10%). 2 The discount has deepened since this set last appeared as lead on May 25 (it was −24.2% then). Total recorded sales: 314, the highest of any set in today's field, giving the BrickRanker average strong statistical confidence. Data last refreshed May 26.
The Ferrari Daytona SP3 is a 1:8 scale replica of Ferrari's limited-production hypercar and ranks as the 6th biggest LEGO Technic set ever produced by piece count. At 3,778 pieces and a $449.99 MSRP, it is the most expensive set in today's cohort by a significant margin; the $335.23 secondary-market average means buyers who find a sealed listing at that level are acquiring a $450 set at roughly $115 below retail. The 314-sale history provides the most reliable reference average on today's list, and the price trend since mid-2025 shows the average settling in the $430–$490 range before compressing toward the current $335 — a pattern that typically indicates pre-retirement market softening followed by post-retirement appreciation.
The forecast range deserves attention: the lower bound (+1.68%) and upper bound (+40.10%) represent the widest spread in today's ranked field. Buyers should treat the midpoint (+28.70%) as a directional estimate rather than a precise target, particularly given the higher absolute dollar amounts involved.
Authentication checklist for 42143
High-value Technic builds attract sophisticated counterfeit operations:
- Ferrari licensing stickers: The set includes official Ferrari-licensed sticker sheets with fine-detail branding elements. Counterfeit versions use printed approximations — check alignment of the Ferrari prancing horse logo and the "Daytona SP3" text under magnification or zoom.
- Panel color fidelity: The Daytona SP3's body uses a specific red (Bright Red in LEGO nomenclature) across large smooth Technic panels. Counterfeit panels in this color often shift toward orange-red or carry a slightly glossy surface compared to LEGO's satin finish.
- Structural rigidity: At 3,778 pieces, the completed model is a dense, rigid structure. Counterfeit builds with substandard tolerances show flex at large panel joints and around the engine cover area. If evaluating an assembled copy, apply gentle lateral pressure to the roof — a properly built genuine model shows negligible flex.
- Sealed-box weight: The genuine sealed box weighs approximately 5 kg. Resealed counterfeit boxes or partial builds repackaged as sealed frequently fall short. A kitchen scale comparison against documented listings is a reasonable first screen for high-value acquisitions.
Watch list
New BrickRanker entries: Lamborghini Huracán Tecnica and Fountain Garden
Two sets appear on BrickRanker's tracked list for the first time this cycle — both showing meaningful composites but with data that is too stale for a ranked position.
42161 Lamborghini Huracán Tecnica (Technic, 806 pcs, $49.99 MSRP): BR average $38.29 (−23.4%), 2-yr forecast +38.89% (range: +26.24% to +49.06%), composite 910.03. 3 No cooldown. Data dated March 26 — 66 days stale. The +38.89% forecast makes it the third-strongest projection among all tracked sets with any data; worth re-evaluating when BrickRanker refreshes.
10359 Fountain Garden (Icons, 1,302 pcs, $99.99 MSRP): BR average $68.77 (−31.2%), 2-yr forecast +29.04% (range: +9.61% to +41.67%), composite 906.05. 4 No cooldown. Data dated April 26 — 35 days stale. The −31.2% discount is the deepest of any set in today's field across ranked and watch positions; if data refreshes in a coming run, this set moves into ranked consideration.
Both sets are retiring July 31, 2026 (est.).
Marketplace scanner: 22nd consecutive zero, retirement tracker tag count surges
All four platforms — eBay, Mercari, Depop, and Vinted — returned zero timestamp-verified new listings for the 22nd consecutive run across a ~24-hour observation window ending June 1, 15:00 CST. Serper queries covering retired LEGO sealed sets across all four platforms returned empty results.
| Platform | Results | Consecutive zeros |
|---|---|---|
| eBay | 0 | 22 |
| Mercari | 0 | 22+ |
| Depop | 0 | 2 |
| Vinted | 0 | 22 |
One tracking signal worth noting: BrickRanker's "Retiring soon!" tag count jumped from 46 to 110 overnight — a 139% increase. 5 This appears to reflect a site-wide tagging logic update rather than 64 new retirement confirmations; the tracked sets in this radar's July 2026 cohort were already flagged under the prior logic. The practical implication: the retirement tracker now casts a wider net, which may bring additional sets into view in future runs.
Price data: BrickRanker 6-month rolling averages, all ranked sets updated May 26, 2026. Lamborghini Huracán Tecnica data from March 26, 2026; Fountain Garden data from April 26, 2026. PriceCharting does not track LEGO sets and is not used as a source today. No secondary-market listings with verifiable 24-hour timestamps were confirmed. Buy guidance is based on available market data, not live listing prices. Verify listings independently before purchasing.
