Specimen 010 — Segway: The $5,000 Transport Revolution That Stalled (2026)

Segway's self-balancing machine worked as engineered. The transport revolution around it did not. Unveiled in 2001 at about $5,000, the Segway PT met an unresolved question of where it belonged, then ended production on July 15, 2020.
