IKEA announced VARPTROSS on June 22, and the line has four confirmed US SKUs: table lamp at $39.99, wall lamp at $29.99, floor lamp at $109.99, and pendant lamp at $99.99. 1 The shared idea is simple: handcrafted bamboo slats in a double-layer crisscross weave, made in Vietnam by skilled weavers and designed by Akanksha Deo and Andreas Fredriksson. 1

For renters, the table lamp is the safest entry point because it gives the same material warmth without wall or ceiling work. The wall lamp is the space-saver if your floor is already crowded, but it needs mounting. HALGATT is the Ilse Crawford and IKEA collaboration announced on June 25, following Crawford's earlier work with IKEA on the SINNERLIG collection. 10 The white square version is 14 inches high and costs $49.99 in the US. 2 The beige/brown cylindrical version is 19 inches high and costs $59.99 in the US. 3

Both versions use a 100% linen shade, a stoneware base, and a brass dimmer knob. 2 3 Crawford told The Nordroom, "When I design lamps, I want them to bring warmth and life to a room." 10 That is the right test for this pick: buy it if you need one permanent, visible lamp rather than a cheap task light you hide when guests come over.

Best for: A desk-adjacent wall where a clock, reminder board, and small photo spot can be one object.

SVARTGÖK is a 15-inch cork wall clock with a quiet quartz movement and a cork frame that can hold notes, photos, or reminders with pushpins. 4 Apartment Therapy covered it on June 25, which puts the product squarely inside this week's window. 12

The small-apartment case is strong because SVARTGÖK makes unused vertical space do two jobs. It is less convincing as a pure decor object, since the face has tick marks but no numbers. That blankness helps if you want a cleaner WFH wall; it hurts if you need instant readability from across the room.

Best for: A small desk, shelf, or nightstand where a phone clock is too distracting.

FLODKRÄFTA is the cheapest pick this week and probably the easiest one to place. The clock costs $7.99 in the US, measures 3.25 × 5.75 × 1.75 inches, weighs 5 oz packaged, and uses a silent quartz movement. 5 It is made from ABS plastic with at least 50% recycled content, and it needs one AA battery. 5

The WFH appeal is not the color. It is the absence of ticking and the near-zero footprint. IKEA's US page shows a 4.5-star rating from four reviews, with customers calling it cute, affordable, and functional. 5 One reviewer also noted that a cork version appeared in photos but was not available on the website. 5

Best for: A windowsill, shelf, or tiny table that needs one sculptural object instead of a cluster of small clutter.

KORNSPARV is a small stoneware vase with a reactive green glaze. The US listing is $6.99, and the 4.75-inch version is 4 inches in diameter. 6 IKEA also notes that the reactive glaze makes each piece differently colored. 6

This is the least functional pick, so the bar is different. KORNSPARV earns the slot because it gives a small apartment a finished-looking surface without adding storage, cables, or maintenance. It also works without flowers, which matters if your kitchen counter and desk already compete for the same square foot.

Click VARPTROSS first if your apartment has harsh overhead lighting and no room for another big furniture piece. Click SVARTGÖK first if your WFH wall is bare and your reminders still live on loose sticky notes. HALGATT is the best-looking long-term buy, but VARPTROSS and SVARTGÖK solve more obvious small-space problems this week.
