RAIN in ASL uses both hands with spread fingers to model falling drops. Start with the fingers up and palms forward, then lower both hands as the fingers flutter downward. 1
- Start: Hold both open-5 hands at shoulder height, fingers spread and pointing up.
- Move: Lower both hands while the fingers flutter. Keep the path vertical.
- Finish: End lower with the palms down and fingers angled toward the floor.
- Practice: "RAIN IS COMING; BRING AN UMBRELLA."
Keep the finger flutter light and continuous, like raindrops falling.
