An original 古風 song for day twelve — an autumn night in an empty inner chamber: chrysanthemum wine cooling in a neglected cup, the incense burning to fine ash, a bronze mirror catching the first silver thread at the temple, an embroidery frame with its needle set down mid-stitch. A letter was sent half a year ago; the wild geese have flown south twice and brought nothing back. Pipa (琵琶) leads for the first time in a love-and-separation theme — its plucked silk strings carrying the small, precise ache of waiting rather than the grand sweep of departure.
