SFO deal radar June 6 — SAS to Vienna and Riga, new lows
Two fresh SAS fares out of SFO headline June 6: Vienna (VIE) at $634 Basic Economy / $734 Regular Economy roundtrip via Copenhagen (April 2027, Day 2), and Riga (RIX) at $681 BE / $781 RE (Oct–Dec 2026 or Jan–Mar 2027, Day 2) — both confirmed live and needing action today. Two Day-3 carryovers (Asiana SFO→Shanghai $779, Delta SFO→Martha's Vineyard $301 BE) are flagged for live verification. On the points side, SFO is absent from Flying Blue's June Promo Rewards list, Citi TYP→Preferred Hotels/Wyndham bonuses expire June 13, and the full 8-entry transfer bonus board is updated. Alaska Atmos Rewards partner booking fee rises to $20 on July 1 — book partner awards before then.

Two new SAS fares out of SFO dropped Thursday: Vienna at $634 Basic Economy and Riga at $681 Basic Economy, both roundtrip with taxes. These are the only confirmed-fresh deals on the board today. The two Day-3 carryovers — Asiana to Shanghai and Delta to Martha's Vineyard — may still be alive, but need a live check before booking.
On the points side, the most time-sensitive item is Citi ThankYou Points transferring to Preferred Hotels and Wyndham — both bonuses expire June 13, one week out. Flying Blue's June Promo Rewards are also worth a note for SFO travelers: SFO is absent from this month's list.
New fares — posted June 4
Scandinavian Airlines SFO → Vienna (VIE) — $634 BE / $734 RE roundtrip
Scandinavian Airlines (SAS; SkyTeam member, Delta partner, hub Copenhagen) posted this June 4. 1
Route: SFO → CPH (Copenhagen) → VIE → CPH → SFO, SAS throughout. Travel window: April 2027. Sunday stay required. Advance purchase: 7 days minimum. Sample dates: April 20–27.
Fare classes: L outbound, T return.
Baggage: Basic Economy does not include checked luggage. Checked bags can be purchased online at least 22 hours before departure ($75/direction); airport counter rate is $105/direction. Regular Economy ($734) includes one checked bag per direction. Neither fare allows changes or cancellations. 1
Miles accrual (Delta SkyMiles): ~12,026 flight miles; L/T class earns approximately 1,202 redeemable miles and $601 MQD. For context, that works out to roughly 5.3¢/mile on BE or 6.1¢/mile on RE — low accrual, but the cash price is the story here.
ITA Matrix prices at $648 BE initially; flysas.com reprices to $634. Book directly at flysas.com to capture the lower rate. US citizens do not need a visa for Austria. 1
The Flight Deal's standard caveat: fares posted more than two days ago are often gone. This post is Day 2 as of June 6 — book today if you want it. 1

Scandinavian Airlines SFO → Riga (RIX) — $681 BE / $781 RE roundtrip
Also posted June 4 by The Flight Deal. 2
Route: SFO → CPH → RIX → CPH → SFO, SAS throughout. Travel windows: Late October–early December 2026, or late January–mid-March 2027. Advance purchase: 28 days minimum. Sample dates: October 28–November 5.
Fare class: L both directions. Baggage and change/cancel policies are identical to the Vienna deal above: BE has no included checked bag, RE includes one per direction, neither allows modifications. 2
Miles accrual (Delta SkyMiles): ~11,824 flight miles; L class earns approximately 1,182 redeemable miles and $591 MQD.
ITA Matrix prices at $695 BE; flysas.com reprices to $681. Latvia is in the Schengen area; US citizens enter visa-free. Riga has two travel windows, which gives more scheduling flexibility than Vienna's single April 2027 window — the October/November dates are particularly useful if you want a fall trip. 2

Active fare board — June 6 snapshot
The two new SAS fares are the confirmed-live leads. The Day-3 carryovers below are past The Flight Deal's two-day freshness window — check ITA Matrix before booking.
| Route | Airline | Price | Posted | Age | Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| SFO → Vienna (VIE) | SAS | $634 BE / $734 RE | June 4 | Day 2 | ✅ Fresh |
| SFO → Riga (RIX) | SAS | $681 BE / $781 RE | June 4 | Day 2 | ✅ Fresh |
| SFO → Shanghai (PVG) | Asiana | $779 RT | June 3 | Day 3 | ⚠️ Verify |
| SFO → Martha's Vineyard (MVY) | Delta | $301 BE / $411 RE | June 3 | Day 3 | ⚠️ Verify |
All prices roundtrip, all taxes included. Ages calculated from original post date to June 6. 3
Asiana SFO→Shanghai (PVG) $779 (Day 3): W-class economy via Seoul Incheon (ICN), travel August–November 2026 or January–April 2027. Booked through Priceline. US citizens need a Chinese visa. The fare was $779 roundtrip all-in at posting — if it pulls up clean on Google Flights today, it still represents a solid discount on SFO→China itineraries routed through a Korean hub. 3
Delta SFO→Martha's Vineyard (MVY) $301 BE / $411 RE (Day 3): E/V class, via New York JFK, travel late August 2026, 21-day advance purchase required. MVY is a small island airport with constrained summer capacity; fares typically run $500–800+. The 21-day advance purchase rule means the outer booking deadline for late-August travel is approximately early August — some runway remains if the fare is still live. 3
Removed from the board: CX SFO→Da Nang ($903, expired Day 4), SAS SFO→Vilnius ($680/$780, expired Day 4 and superseded by the new SAS deals), UA SFO→Kauai ($296, expired Day 5), UA SFO→Kona ($296, expired Day 5). 3
Transfer bonuses
Flying Blue June Promo Rewards — SFO not included
Air France-KLM Flying Blue (Air France and KLM's joint frequent flyer program) published its June 2026 Promo Rewards list — discounted economy awards to Europe, typically 25% off standard redemption rates — and SFO is absent. 4
June 2026 North American departure cities for economy Promo Rewards (18,750 miles one-way): Atlanta (ATL), Boston (BOS), Houston (IAH), New York (JFK/EWR), Seattle (SEA), Minneapolis (MSP). Flying Blue Extra subscribers also have access from Chicago (ORD) and Washington D.C. (IAD). 5
SFO was included in prior months. The absence removes the option of stacking Flying Blue Promo Rewards with the current Amex Membership Rewards → Flying Blue 25% transfer bonus (active through June 30) for SFO-departing readers. The closest alternatives are SEA or LAX, which are in the June list. The Amex→Flying Blue 25% bonus itself remains active through June 30; it simply doesn't help SFO readers access Promo Reward pricing this month. 4

Citi TYP → Preferred Hotels & Wyndham (expires June 13): Citi ThankYou Rewards (earned on Citi Premier, Prestige, and eligible business cards) transfers to Preferred Hotels & Resorts I Prefer at a 30% bonus and to Wyndham Rewards at 25%, both expiring June 13, 2026. These are the two earliest-closing bonuses currently active — every other bonus on the board runs through June 30. If you have Citi ThankYou points sitting idle and a Preferred Hotels or Wyndham stay in mind, this is the window. 6
Qatar Privilege Club Avios 30% (expires June 30): Qatar Airways is offering a 30% bonus when converting hotel loyalty points to Qatar Avios through June 30, 2026. Participating hotel partners include World of Hyatt, IHG Hotels & Resorts, ALL Accor, and Shangri-La Circle. This is a hotel-to-airline conversion bonus run by Qatar Airways directly — it is separate from Citi's 30% TYP→Qatar Avios credit card transfer bonus. Bonus Avios credit by July 31. 8
All 8 bonuses tracked by Frequent Miler (frequentmiler.com, a points and miles analysis publication) were confirmed unchanged as of June 5 — no new additions, no removals, no date or percentage changes in the past 24 hours. 6
Program changes
Alaska Airlines Atmos Rewards partner booking fee increases to $20 (July 1): Alaska Airlines (operating its frequent flyer program under the Atmos Rewards brand) is raising the per-passenger, per-direction partner award booking fee from $12.50 to $20, effective for bookings made on or after July 1, 2026. That is a 60% increase; a roundtrip for two passengers goes from $50 total to $80 total in fees alone. 9
Holders of the Atmos Rewards Summit Visa Infinite Card ($395 annual fee) are exempt from the fee. One Mile at a Time's Ben Schlappig called the fee "a total junk fee" and suggested the increase is intended partly to drive Summit Card sign-ups. 9
If you have Alaska partner awards in mind — on carriers like British Airways, Finnair, Cathay Pacific, or Aer Lingus — booking before June 30 saves $7.50 per one-way segment.
Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer seat selection restriction (effective May 25): Singapore Airlines restricted advance Business Class seat selection for KrisFlyer (Singapore Airlines' own frequent flyer program) Saver Awards, Advantage Awards, and Business Lite fares, as of May 25, 2026. Forward cabin rows are blocked at booking; they open 96 hours before departure. PPS Club members retain full selection access; KrisFlyer Elite Silver and Gold elites receive no additional access. Policy may have been partially rolled back — MainlyMiles (a miles and points publication) noted this could have been a glitch and is monitoring. 10
Whether the restriction applies to partner program bookings on Singapore Airlines metal (via Aeroplan or United MileagePlus, for example) has not been confirmed.
