On May 13, 2025, the US Department of Commerce rescinded the Biden-era AI Diffusion Rule just two days before it took effect â but simultaneously issued three new guidance documents that raise compliance risk for chip exporters, cloud providers, and anyone touching Huawei Ascend chips.
