Both require booking through the US-facing sites — AirFrance.us or KLM.com — or the US mobile apps, on flights originating in the US and charged in USD. The booking must be paid for by May 31; travel can happen after that date.

One note: taxes and fees on Flying Blue award flights originating in the US count toward the $1,250 or $2,000 threshold. 7 Flying Blue award ticket fees can run higher than typical programs, which makes the minimum more reachable for cardholders using the transfer partner route.
