Cap brim, then cradle — that's the whole sign.
Start with a flat-B hand at your forehead like you're tipping the brim of a cap (the "male" root in ASL), then sweep it down into your non-dominant arm as if you're holding a baby.
Male + child = SON.

Card 1 — Starting Handshape Flat-B at forehead, palm facing down, fingers bent. Thumb-side near the right temple. Think: brim of a cap.
Card 2 — Motion Hand arcs down in a smooth diagonal sweep toward your non-dominant arm, which is held horizontally at chest level, palm up.
Card 3 — Ending Handshape Dominant hand closes to a flat-O (or flat bent-B) and rests in the crook of the non-dominant arm — the cradling position.
Card 4 — Usage
"My son loves learning new things."
Tip: neutral expression throughout; a slight downward glance toward the cradle arm looks natural.
