SFO deal radar June 5 — Rove→Aeroplan expires tomorrow
Two Day-1 cash fares headline today's issue: Asiana SFO→Shanghai (PVG) at $779 roundtrip (W class, August–November or January–April windows), the lowest SFO→China fare currently on the board; and Delta SFO→Martha's Vineyard at $301 BE / $411 RE, competitive for a constrained summer island destination. The Cathay Pacific Da Nang ($903) and SAS Vilnius ($680/$780) fares both aged to Day 3 — verify on ITA Matrix before booking. The United Hawaii pair ($296) is Day 4 deep gray zone. On the transfer bonus side, Rove→Aeroplan 25% closes tomorrow June 6 at 11:59 PM ET; all other active bonuses (Amex→Flying Blue 25%, Rove→Turkish 50%, Hotel→United 25%, Chase UR→Marriott 55%, Citi→Qatar Avios 30%) run through June 13–30.

Two fresh fares landed on The Flight Deal Wednesday: Asiana to Shanghai at $779 roundtrip and Delta to Martha's Vineyard at $301 Basic Economy. Both are Day 1 — book today if either route works for you. On the points side, today's only time-sensitive action is Rove→Aeroplan 25%, which expires tomorrow, June 6 at 11:59 PM ET.
New cash fares — posted June 3
Asiana Airlines SFO → Shanghai (PVG) — $779 roundtrip
Asiana Airlines (Star Alliance, United partner carrier) posted this June 3 at $779 roundtrip, all taxes included, W class Regular Economy. 1
Route: SFO → ICN (Seoul Incheon) → PVG (Shanghai Pudong) → ICN → SFO, Asiana throughout. One connection each way; no stopovers permitted. Travel windows: Late August–November 2026, or January–April 2027. Sample dates: November 3–10. Advance purchase: 3 days minimum.
At $779, this lands roughly 35–50% below the typical SFO→PVG roundtrip range of $1,000–$1,800 for itineraries routed through a Korean hub. The routing via ICN is what gets it there — United's own direct SFO→PVG and Chinese carrier options price meaningfully higher. It's also the lowest SFO→China fare on the current board, undercutting the Cathay Pacific China-city series (posted around $811) by about $30. 1
Miles accrual (United MileagePlus partner): 12,306 flight miles → approximately 6,153 redeemable miles. Baggage policy for W class is not specified in the source listing; Asiana international economy typically includes checked bags, but confirm the specific fare-class allowance before booking. US citizens need a China visa — allow adequate lead time. 1
The Flight Deal's own freshness caveat applies: "if this post is more than two days old, the fare is likely gone." This issue publishes on Day 1 — verify on ITA Matrix and book directly with Asiana or a preferred OTA. 1

Delta Air Lines SFO → Martha's Vineyard (MVY) — $301 BE / $411 RE roundtrip
Delta posted this June 3 at $301 Basic Economy or $411 Regular Economy, all taxes included, E class (BE) and V class (RE). 2
Route: SFO → JFK → MVY → JFK → SFO, Delta throughout. Travel window: Late August 2026. Sample dates: August 21–25. Advance purchase: 21 days minimum. Martha's Vineyard Airport (MVY) handles only regional aircraft, which keeps ticket supply naturally constrained; summer fares to the island routinely run $500–$800+.
BE ($301): No advance seat selection (assigned at check-in), no changes, boards last, no SkyMiles accrual. Carry-on is limited to an item that fits under the seat in front; standard overhead bin bags may be gated. As The Flight Deal quotes Delta's policy: "Delta Basic Economy fares do not allow for any advance seat assignments, changes and boards last. In addition, it does not earn any miles." 2
RE ($411): Includes advance seat selection and a standard carry-on. The $110 premium for RE is reasonable at this price point — you get seat control and normal boarding.
Miles accrual: 5,500 flight miles. RE earns 1,725 redeemable miles. No booking deadline was specified in the source; the 21-day advance-purchase rule means the outer edge for late-August travel is approximately early August. 2

CX Da Nang and SAS Vilnius (Day 3): Both have crossed The Flight Deal's own two-day freshness threshold. Run ITA Matrix before assuming availability — if seats show up, these remain attractive fares: the CX $903 Da Nang fare allows Hong Kong stopovers at $100/stop per direction, and the SAS $680 Vilnius fare is visa-free for US citizens. Booking directly at flysas.com gets the SAS fare to $680 vs. $694 on ITA Matrix. 3
United Hawaii $296 (Day 4): LIH and KOA are in deep gray zone. The LIH routing is direct SFO–LIH with a 14-day advance-purchase minimum, which technically allows residual inventory to persist — treat any availability as a windfall, not a reliable find. Verify on united.com. 3
Off the board: DL SFO→Sarasota (SRQ) $256 (Day 5, expired) and AA SFO→Lima (LIM) $503 (travel window was early June, no remaining booking window) have been removed. 3
LAST CALL: Rove → Aeroplan 25% expires June 6
Rove Miles (a US-based travel rewards platform with 17 transfer partners) transfers to Air Canada Aeroplan at 1,000 Rove = 1,250 Aeroplan points through June 6 at 11:59 PM ET — tomorrow night. 4 After the deadline, the rate resets to 1:1.
The catch: all Aeroplan redemptions now use the revised June 1 award chart. Transfers through this bonus window clear at the new pricing — 25% more Aeroplan points per Rove mile, but those points buy less than they did before June 1. The math that still holds:
- SFO→Europe business (4,001–6,000 mi bracket): 75,000 Aeroplan points → approximately 60,000 Rove miles with the bonus
- SFO→Asia business (7,501–11,000 mi bracket): 102,500 Aeroplan points → approximately 82,000 Rove miles with the bonus
Aeroplan's core advantages remain intact: no fuel surcharges, single-trip stopovers for 5,000 extra points, and access to United, Lufthansa, ANA, and Etihad award space. Frequent Miler's Tim Steinke noted that adding Aeroplan "dramatically increases its utility" for Rove cardholders. 4
Only transfer if you have a specific itinerary and confirmed seat availability — Aeroplan points don't reposition easily once transferred. The closing time is reported as 11:59 PM ET on June 6; transfer today to avoid last-minute processing delays. 4
Transfer bonuses — active board
Flying Blue June Promo Rewards + Amex 25% stack
Air France-KLM Flying Blue (Air France and KLM's joint frequent flyer program) has SFO among the eligible US cities in its June 2026 Promo Rewards batch — discounted economy awards to Europe at 18,750 Flying Blue miles one-way. 5 Book by June 30; travel through November 30, 2026. Awards are on Air France or KLM metal only, routing through Paris CDG or Amsterdam AMS.
Amex Membership Rewards (earned on Amex Platinum, Gold, Green, and eligible business cards) transfers to Flying Blue at 1,000 MR = 1,250 Flying Blue through June 30. 6 Stacked: 18,750 Flying Blue miles → 15,000 Amex MR per one-way economy seat to Europe. One Mile at a Time's Ben Schlappig called this the highest Amex→Flying Blue bonus he's seen, and said he plans to make "a large speculative transfer, since my mileage balance is low." 6 Flying Blue fuel surcharges on business class are substantial — factor them in before committing a large transfer for premium cabin.
Rove → Turkish Miles & Smiles: 50% through June 30
Turkish Airlines Miles & Smiles (Star Alliance) is running a 50% transfer bonus from Rove Miles through June 30. 7 Headline rates after the bonus: Turkish-metal SFO→Istanbul business class one-way at 65,000 Turkish miles → 44,000 Rove miles; Star Alliance European business at 85,000–90,000 Turkish miles → approximately 57,000–60,000 Rove miles.
The Hawaii sweet spot that once drove West Coast interest has been devalued from ~7,500 to ~22,500+ miles one-way, removing the main domestic use case. Frequent Miler's Nick Reyes gave a direct warning: "There's definitely some element of gamble where I would only consider this transfer bonus if I had an award that I wanted to lock in right away and I was reasonably confident that my travel plans wouldn't change." 7 Turkish customer service is inconsistent and the program's online payment system has historically gone offline for extended periods. Transfer only against a confirmed booking.
Hotel points → United 25%: register by June 30
United MileagePlus is accepting hotel loyalty points at a 25% bonus through June 30 at 11:59 PM EST, with registration required at promo.united.com/offers/p2m. 8 Eligible programs include Marriott Bonvoy, World of Hyatt, IHG One Rewards, Wyndham Rewards, Accor Live Limitless, Choice Privileges, Radisson Rewards, and Shangri-La Golden Circle.
Marriott math: 60,000 Marriott Bonvoy points → 35,000 United miles total (20,000 base + 10,000 Marriott partnership bonus + 5,000 from 25% promo on the 20,000 base). Bonus miles credit by January 31, 2027. 9 OMAAT's Ben Schlappig noted that most hotel programs transfer to United at poor structural rates, with Marriott being a partial exception at roughly 0.58 United miles per Marriott point — "not great, but also not terrible." Register first; only transfer against a specific redemption target.

Program changes on the radar
Singapore Airlines award seat restrictions (effective June 2): Singapore Airlines now restricts business class seat selection on KrisFlyer (Singapore Airlines' own frequent flyer program) Saver, Advantage, and Promo award tickets. Front-section seats are unavailable at booking and unlock 96 hours before departure. PPS Club and Solitaire PPS members are exempt; 737 routes are also exempt. 12 Whether the restriction carries over to partner program bookings (Aeroplan, United MileagePlus) on Singapore Airlines metal has not been confirmed.
Alaska Mileage Plan partner booking fee increase (July 1): Alaska Airlines will raise the non-refundable booking fee on partner award tickets from $12.50 to $20 per one-way, effective July 1. 13 Changes remain free and don't re-trigger the fee. Round-trip tickets are charged once. If you have Alaska partner awards in mind, booking before June 30 saves $7.50 per one-way segment.
SFO structural note: SFO arrivals are running at roughly two-thirds of their pre-March 31 level due to runway construction continuing through October 2. Spirit Airlines has been absent from SFO since May 2. Jet fuel sits at approximately $5/gal, keeping domestic fares 10–15% and transatlantic fares roughly 20% above pre-surge baseline — which is part of why the deals above stand out at current ambient pricing.
