Arsenal versus PSG. In Budapest. On the thirtieth of May.

That is the Champions League final. It is happening. And I am absolutely buzzing about it.

Good morning and welcome to The Full Time Report, Episode Eleven. I'm Tom — and last night PSG went to the Allianz Arena and did exactly what they needed to do. One-all on the night. Six-five on aggregate. Paris Saint-Germain are through, and they will face Arsenal in Budapest.

We've also got tonight's Europa League semi-final second legs to get through — Villa versus Forest and Freiburg versus Braga, both kicking off at eight o'clock this evening. Neither of those have been played yet, so we'll preview them properly.

And then the usual desks — title race, transfers, and the injury board. Loads to get through, let's go.

Right then. Bayern Munich versus PSG, second leg of the Champions League semi-final.

Kompany's full quote was just dripping with frustration: he said, too much went against us. If you look at both legs, probably too much went against us. He did add — fair play to him — that he doesn't have the ability to be disappointed for long. He sees progress at Bayern this season and he's already motivated for next year. I actually really like Kompany. He's classy even when he's seething.

Six out of six dribbles completed. Eleven duels won — team high. He has now registered a goal or assist in seven consecutive Champions League knockout games. Seven. And he's tied with Mbappé — Mbappé — for total goal involvements in this entire competition. Sixteen.

Barney Ronay in the Guardian called him — and this is a great line — the perfect attacking scalpel. He made Konrad Laimer look like a normal human man up against hyper-skilled futuristic aliens. That is absolutely vivid writing and also deeply accurate.

One slightly bittersweet note for England fans — Harry Kane gets to the final, but he's on the wrong side. He can't face Arsenal. He scores one of those typical stoppage-time Kane goals and the tie is already gone. There's something a bit poetic and a bit tragic about that at the same time.

Right. Let's move to tonight — the Europa League semi-final second legs.

Both games kick off at eight o'clock tonight — neither has been played yet as we record this. First up: Aston Villa versus Nottingham Forest at Villa Park.

Forest won the first leg one-nil at the City Ground — Chris Wood with a penalty in the seventy-first minute. So Villa need to score at Villa Park just to stay in it. They've never had Onana available tonight either — he's out with a knee injury.

The good news for Villa is John McGinn has passed his fitness test. And Unai Emery — who is absolutely brilliant in these knockout ties, it's almost supernatural at this point — he said Villa Park will be special tonight. He acknowledged Forest are the favourites given the first-leg result, but he's clearly not done.

Vitor Pereira, the Forest manager — and just to be absolutely clear, it's Vitor Pereira, not Nuno — he was brilliant in his presser. Said he wants his side to play without fear, that he forgets about the first-leg result, we start zero-zero and we fight. And then he added: we'll practise penalties, we need to be ready for anything.

Small concern for Forest: Morgan Gibbs-White is a doubt — he took a facial knock from Robert Sanchez in training, might need a face mask. Callum Hudson-Odoi is out for the season entirely.

Paul Merson said on Sky he'd be shocked if Villa turned this around. Honestly, I think Forest have this. That one-nil lead at Villa Park is a proper buffer. But Emery in Europe is a different animal. Keep your eyes on this one tonight.

The other tie: Freiburg versus Braga. This one is absolutely tasty.

Braga won the first leg two-one in Portugal — Dorgeles with a ninety-second-minute winner after Grifo had equalised for Freiburg. So Braga take a one-goal lead to Germany.

The thing is though — Freiburg at home in Europe? Unbeaten in their last TEN European home matches. They've won all six Europa League home games this season. Fourteen goals scored, two conceded at the Europa-Park Stadion. This is an absolute fortress.

Braga aren't pushovers either. Under Carlos Vicens — who you might know as one of Guardiola's assistants at Man City — they've won eight consecutive two-legged European ties. That is a remarkable record.

I think Freiburg win tonight, probably two-nil or two-one, but I'm genuinely unsure whether it'll be enough. Braga are a seriously good side. This is the Europa League tie of the round — a real coin flip on who goes to the final.

Title race update — brief one today because there's no Premier League action to speak of in this window.

Arsenal sit on seventy-six points from thirty-five games. Man City on seventy-one from thirty-four. Arsenal are five points clear with a game advantage. At the moment, Arsenal are absolutely in the driving seat.

City have a game in hand — they host Brentford on the ninth of May, that's Saturday. Arsenal go to West Ham on the tenth. If City drop points against Brentford, it could be done by Sunday evening.

One interesting injury note for City: Rodri has improved from totally out to about fifty percent fitness. He could potentially return for that Brentford game. If Rodri comes back for the run-in, this title race gets more interesting. Just something to monitor.

Transfer desk time. Let's do the headlines.

John Stones — the big new one today. We already knew he was leaving City as a free agent this summer. Juventus had been sniffing around. But now Everton have entered the race. Everton.

It's an interesting one, actually. Stones is thirty-one, he's going to want regular football — and Everton are heading into their new stadium, they'll have ambitions. Whether he fancies dropping down that level, I'm not sure. But the interest is real according to Sky Sports.

Anthony Gordon and Bayern Munich — still deadlocked. Newcastle won't move below about seventy-seven million, Bayern haven't matched that. No movement in the last twenty-four hours.

Chelsea manager search: Xabi Alonso still the frontrunner, Andoni Iraola and Marco Silva still on the shortlist. Xavi Hernandez was contacted but is now off the list. Callum McFarlane continues as interim.

Sandro Tonali to Manchester United — no bid has been submitted. Newcastle are holding firm at over a hundred million pounds. United apparently have a hundred and fifty million set aside for midfield, but they're now exploring alternatives: Tyler Adams, Alex Scott, Mateus Fernandes. Whether Tonali is still the real target, I genuinely don't know.

Couple of bigger stories in from Sky: Juventus are apparently targeting Liverpool's Alisson Becker — one year left on his contract, could be a free agent next summer. And there are reports Arsenal are monitoring Marcus Rashford at Barcelona. Now both of those are still early, no Tier One confirmation, treat them as noise for now.

Casemiro — multiple MLS clubs circling. Inter Miami and LA Galaxy are apparently leading the race. That career is winding down in America, and honestly, fair play to him.

Rasmus Hojlund to Napoli — this one is confirmed. Their sporting director Giovanni Manna has triggered the release clause. The clause is thirty-eight million pounds. There was a figure of sixty-four million floating about which may include add-ons and the full package, but the confirmed trigger is thirty-eight million. Done deal.

Curtis Jones and Inter Milan — Gazzetta dello Sport have confirmed Inter's interest. Liverpool are still blocking any loan-plus-option framework. Worth watching over the summer.

And finally on the transfer desk — Niklas Süle is retiring at thirty. The Bayern and Germany defender had a knee scare, got the all-clear from an MRI, but has decided it's time. Injury board — let's run through the key ones quickly.

Alexander Isak — new one. Groin or hip issue, missed Liverpool's match against United. He's at about fifty percent fitness right now, possible return ninth of May. Liverpool will be sweating on that with the run-in.

Mohamed Salah — minor thigh issue, return date expected seventeenth of May. At least that's manageable with the title already wrapped if Liverpool aren't chasing anything.

Alisson Becker — actually better news here. He's recovering faster than expected, now at fifty percent and has a fifty-fifty chance of being available on the ninth of May. Progress.

Lewis Miley at Newcastle — season over. Leg injury, confirmed. Real shame for the kid, he was having a brilliant year.

Chelsea's injury list continues to grow — and remember Chelsea have Callum McFarlane trying to hold this together. Robert Sanchez has a head and facial injury, back hopefully on the ninth. Pedro Neto and Alejandro Garnacho both picked up minor training knocks — also targeting the ninth. Jesse Derry has a severe head injury with no return date. And Jamie Gittens has a thigh injury.

That's five new injuries at Chelsea. Five. In one window. That is just relentlessly bleak — and it partly explains the six straight defeats.

Benjamin Sesko at Manchester United — new tibia injury. United's medical room has been absolutely rammed this season. Still no confirmed manager either, which doesn't help the atmosphere around the place.
