A hands-busy audio lesson for making a small set of foam-plate prints with a brayer and water-based color. The session walks through materials, table setup, label-reading and ventilation, drawing into foam, rolling a thin ink layer, pulling several prints, cleaning the brayer, and choosing variations for another round.
This episode is designed for beginner and intermediate makers working at a table. You can pause between steps, repeat a print, or stop after the first small series.
Materials covered
- Thin craft foam or a clean foam tray
- Blunt pencil, retracted ballpoint pen, or dull stylus
- Brayer, washable palette or tray, paper, scrap paper, rags, tape, water container, and trash bag
- Water-based block printing ink, or thick acrylic paint as a substitute
Safety and cleanup notes
The episode assumes water-based materials. Read the product label, keep normal room ventilation, keep wet tools and prints away from children and pets, avoid eating at the printing table, wipe extra paint or ink onto scrap paper before washing tools, and clean the brayer before acrylic paint dries on the roller.
