Mount Rinjani Trek: Crater Lake, Summit and the Training It Takes
Mount Rinjani rises above Lombok, Indonesia, to 3,726 metres. A typical summit-and-lake trek takes three to four days, linking high crater rims with Segara Anak, the caldera lake beside the younger cone of Barujari. 1
The summit push crosses steep, loose volcanic ground after hours of climbing, so aerobic fitness and strong legs matter for both the ascent and the long descent. Access is permit-controlled and can close seasonally; check current national-park conditions before travelling. 2
The film uses real Lombok and Rinjani footage from Dwidiyo Hanung, Amri Marihot Jati, and Midori via Wikimedia Commons, licensed under CC BY-SA 3.0.
