An imaginary roadside sign for the home-improvement giant, translated into the visual language of 1950s service stations. The fictional HOME CENTER mark uses an enamel turquoise badge, tomato-red chevrons, chrome-gray edging, a starburst, and condensed cream capitals—signals designed to read before a driver reaches the pumps.
The second card traces those moves to three details from a restored station established in 1954 1 and its pump/fascia details 2. The photographs are modern documentation of a preserved object, not period photographs. The final card maps each reference to a deliberate choice in the mark.
This is a design experiment, not a real brand identity.
