The remarks begin as classroom curiosities and slowly become a record of what children noticed before adults did. The episode reads five entries in order, with brief context from real education archives.

The historical texture draws on an oral history of Minnesota elementary teacher and principal Joel Botten Jr., an oral history of Blue Earth teacher Frankie C. Bly’s 1987 classroom-computer program, and the National Center for Education Statistics’ timeline of changing assessment practice. 123
