How Each Generation Splits the Bill

Splitting a dinner bill can mean exact math, a quick round-up, or one person taking the check. These are broad cultural tendencies, not rules; the same person may choose a different method with friends, family, or coworkers.

The useful bridge is one question: do we want to split evenly, split by order, or take turns? Then name the total, include tax and tip, and say when it should be settled.
