Claude Fable 5.1 Cuts Cost, Keeps the Guardrails

Anthropic launched Claude Fable 5.1 for general use and Claude Mythos 5.1 for trusted partners in cybersecurity and life-sciences research. The two names refer to the same underlying model with different safeguards. Anthropic says Fable 5.1 lowers cache-read pricing, reducing typical workload costs by about 25% and highly agentic workload costs by up to approximately 45%. Anthropic says Enterprise Frontier Safeguards will let enterprise customers keep data in their own cloud infrastructure while Anthropic detects and responds to misuse.
