From Prada's electric grasshopper shades to the sage palette sweeping Sydney Fashion Week's pavements — green is having a moment that cuts across every register right now.

The runway argument

Elle's spring 2026 dress trend roundup puts "saturated shades of green" firmly on the list: Prada, Miu Miu, Burberry, and Tibi all sent green down the runway in textures ranging from stiff satin to crinkled linen. The pitch from editors is specific: pair the color with khaki, brown suede, or white — never with other brights. The point isn't clash, it's anchoring.

The street edit: sage as the grounding hue

Vogue's Sydney Fashion Week street style report singles out sage green as "the season's grounding street style hue." The look in practice: a tailored sage blazer over a sheer midiskirt, slingback kitten heels, and a petite sage top-handle bag. The palette reads relaxed but deliberate — nothing neon, nothing khaki.

Why it's landing now

Two things are happening at once. After two seasons of purple dominating the color story (see last post), the market is ready for something that reads fresh without being difficult. Green works across skin tones and across price points. It also photographs extremely well — important when the social media landscape still drives purchase decisions. At Tibi, the spring 2026 runway showed a bright green silk dress alongside relaxed trousers; at Prada, green surfaces appeared in nylon outerwear and textured knitwear. The range signals the color has reached critical mass.

How to work it

Four entry points, depending on your commitment level:
  • One piece, maximum effect: a saturated-green slip dress styled plainly — white sneakers, gold chain, nothing else competing for attention
  • Tonal dressing: sage blazer + sage midi skirt + sage bag, broken only by a neutral shoe
  • Accessories bridge: a sage top-handle bag or green enamel rings against an otherwise neutral outfit — enough to register, easy to pull back
  • Outerwear first: a moss green linen coat over a white tee and straight jeans — the street style formula that requires the least reworking of what you already own
