SFO deal radar June 10 — CSP Hyatt 4:3 breaks today; three fresh domestic fares

SFO deal radar June 10 — CSP Hyatt 4:3 breaks today; three fresh domestic fares

The June 10 issue leads with breaking news — Chase announced today that the Sapphire Preferred's World of Hyatt transfer ratio drops to 4:3 (first non-1:1 in UR history), with the Sapphire Reserve exempt at 1:1. That change, combined with the CSR's best-ever 150K bonus expiring in 5 days (June 15 at 9 AM EDT), makes the two decisions tightly interconnected. On fares, three D1 domestic deals are fresh: United SFO↔Nashville at $155 BE, American SFO↔Chicago at $213 BE, and United BWI↔SFO at $217 BE. United SFO↔Singapore nonstop at $696 BE is D2 and worth booking today. Yesterday's Seoul and Hanoi leads are D4 and treated as expired. Points deadlines covered: Alaska Saver earning ends today (last day), Citi TYP → Preferred Hotels/Wyndham expire June 13 (3 days), and Chase UR → Virgin Atlantic 30% is new through July 14. Full 9-entry transfer bonus board updated. Program radar covers the PAL oneworld insider roadmap leak and an unconfirmed LH First partner closure report.

The headline today isn't a fare drop. Chase announced this morning that the Sapphire Preferred's Hyatt transfer ratio is dropping to 4:3 — the first time any Chase Ultimate Rewards partner has moved away from 1:1 in the program's history. That's the lead. On fares, three domestic deals posted yesterday are fresh: United SFO↔Nashville at $155 Basic Economy, American SFO↔Chicago at $213 Basic Economy, and United BWI↔SFO at $217 Basic Economy. The United SFO↔Singapore nonstop at $696 is Day 2 and still worth booking today. Yesterday's leads — United Seoul and Korean Air Hanoi — have crossed the four-day mark and are likely gone.
On deadlines: today is the last day Alaska Saver fares earn miles. The Citi ThankYou → Preferred Hotels and Wyndham bonuses expire in 3 days (June 13). The CSR 150K offer closes in 5 days (June 15). And Chase UR → Virgin Atlantic added a fresh 30% transfer bonus this week, now active through July 14.

Breaking: Chase Sapphire Preferred cuts Hyatt transfer to 4:3

Chase announced this morning that the Sapphire Preferred (CSP) card will transfer Ultimate Rewards points to World of Hyatt at a 4:3 ratio — meaning 4,000 UR points become 3,000 Hyatt points, down from the current 1:1. 1
Effective dates: New CSP applicants starting June 15, 2026. Existing cardholders on October 1, 2026.
Chase Sapphire Reserve (CSR) is exempt. The Reserve — both personal and business versions — keeps its 1:1 Hyatt transfer ratio. That gap is now a real differentiator between the two cards, not just a benefits-tier difference.
This is the first non-1:1 transfer ratio Chase has introduced for any UR partner. Ben Schlappig at One Mile at a Time called it "incredibly disappointing to see this just shortly after World of Hyatt massively devalued its points," and added: "I think transferable points are reaching a negative inflection point, as we're increasingly seeing non-1:1 transfers." 1 The r/awardtravel community's reaction on the same post was blunt — one of the top-voted responses called it simply "pretty bad." 2
Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur — suite interior with modern furniture, marble tables, and warm lighting
Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur — the kind of property the old CSP→Hyatt 1:1 rate made accessible; the 4:3 ratio changes the math 1
The updated CSP does add some new benefits: 3x on gas stations and EV charging, 3x on vacation home rentals (Airbnb, Vrbo, Vacasa), a hotel credit that doubles from $50 to $100, a new Global Entry/TSA PreCheck/NEXUS credit (up to $120, every 4 years), and Apple TV+ for a year. Emergency evacuation travel coverage is also new. The 10% anniversary points bonus is removed. The annual fee stays at $95.
What this means for CSP holders: If you use UR points for Hyatt redemptions, you have until September 30 to transfer at the current 1:1 rate. There is no announced rule change preventing existing cardholders from transferring before October 1. The bigger question for heavy Hyatt users is whether the CSP's $95 annual fee is still worth holding when the CSR's 1:1 Hyatt ratio is one of its preserved advantages — and the CSR currently carries its best-ever 150K welcome bonus, expiring in 5 days (see below). CSP holders who are already eligible for a new CSR can hold both; existing CSR holders do not get a second bonus.

United SFO ↔ Singapore (SIN) — $696 BE / $916 RE (Day 2 — act today)

United posted this June 8. 9
This is the best long-haul deal on the board. SFO–Singapore nonstop is a 16,870-mile roundtrip; the normal market price runs $1,200–$1,800, so $696 represents roughly a 40–50% discount. The deal is Day 2 as of this morning — TFD's own posts say fares are "likely gone" after two days, so the booking window is today.
Fare class: K. Travel window: Mid-August through November 2026, or late January through March 2027. April travel adds $4. Sunday overnight stay required. 3-day advance purchase. Sample dates: November 3–10, 2026.
Basic Economy ($696): No advance seat selection, second checked bag costs $100 per direction (first bag is included), no changes or cancellations, no miles accrual without status or co-branded card. Regular Economy ($916): Two checked bags, advance seat selection, changes permitted. Stopovers in Asia are allowed at $100 per stop (except Guam). Elite Qualifying Dollars: $790 roundtrip. Redeemable miles (Regular Economy): 2,370. US passport holders enter Singapore visa-free. Book at united.com; use Matrix ITA Software to scan available travel dates.

American SFO ↔ New York JFK/LGA — $193 BE / $409 RE (Day 2 — verify first)

American posted this June 8. 10
Also at the Day 2 mark. The gap between $193 BE and $409 RE is unusually wide on this route — Regular Economy at $409 is close to a normal fare for SFO–JFK, so Basic Economy is where the deal is if restrictions are acceptable. Fare class: B (BE), O (RE). Travel window: September through early December 2026. Tuesdays and Wednesdays. 21-day advance purchase. Check aa.com before booking.

🔴 Alaska Saver earning: last day today

Alaska Airlines eliminates mile and qualifying status credit accrual on Saver fares for tickets issued on or after June 11. 12 Today is the last day to book a Saver fare that earns the 30% mileage rate. The cutoff is the ticket issue date, not the travel date — a Saver fare booked today for September travel still earns. Saver fares purchased from tomorrow forward earn zero miles. A separate Alaska deadline follows on July 1: the partner award booking fee rises from $12.50 to $20 per person per direction ($15 to $30 by phone). If you have a Japan Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Qantas, or British Airways partner award already planned, issue it before July 1.

🔴 Citi TYP → Preferred Hotels 30% + Wyndham 25% expire June 13 (3 days)

Both bonuses expire Saturday. 11
  • Citi TYP → Preferred Hotels & Resorts I Prefer (30%): 1,000 ThankYou Points → 2,600 I Prefer points (standard rate is 2,000). Preferred Hotels is an independent luxury collection with properties at long-haul Bay Area destinations across Europe and Asia.
  • Citi TYP → Wyndham Rewards (25%): 1,000 ThankYou Points → 1,250 Wyndham points (standard rate is 1,000:1,000).
Only transfer if you have a specific redemption in mind. Neither partner has strong aspirational value without a target property.

🟡 CSR 150K bonus: 5 days left (June 15, 9 AM EDT)

The Chase Sapphire Reserve® currently offers 150,000 Ultimate Rewards points after $6,000 in purchases in the first 3 months. 13 Ben Schlappig called it "the best publicly available welcome bonus we've ever seen on this card, period" and estimated the 150K UR at approximately $2,550 in value at 1.7 cents per point. Annual fee is $795; the $300 annual travel credit (auto-applied to any travel spend) offsets a significant portion in year one. The card also includes Priority Pass Select access and Chase Sapphire Lounge access at eight US airports.
Eligibility: Cannot currently hold the CSR; prior holders may not be eligible regardless of whether they received a previous bonus. CSP holders can apply simultaneously. The deadline is June 15 at 9:00 AM EDT — not June 15 at midnight.
The CSP–CSR connection from today's breaking news: Today's CSP Hyatt 4:3 announcement makes the CSR's preserved 1:1 Hyatt ratio a concrete and specific advantage for the first time — it's not just a benefits-tier upgrade, it's a different program outcome for Hyatt transfers. If you regularly redeem UR at Hyatt properties and meet the CSR spend threshold, the next 5 days are the window to apply for the card while the 150K bonus and the 1:1 Hyatt ratio are both in place.

🟢 Chase UR → Virgin Atlantic 30% — new, expires July 14

Chase Ultimate Rewards added a 30% transfer bonus to Virgin Atlantic Flying Club on June 9, running through July 14 — a 35-day window. 14
Sweet spots with the bonus:
  • US–UK economy saver: Virgin Atlantic awards start at 6,000 Flying Club points one-way. With the 30% bonus, you only need to transfer approximately 5,000 UR points per person. Taxes and fees on UK-originating awards are higher; US-originating flights use the same mileage chart but carry lower surcharges. As Frequent Miler noted, "Economy saver awards between the US and UK start at 6,000 Virgin points (plus a not insubstantial amount in taxes and fees). With a 30% transfer bonus, that means you'd only need to transfer 5,000 Ultimate Rewards points per person." 14
  • Premium economy: ~10,500 Virgin points one-way → ~8,000 UR needed (if account already holds 100 VS points).
  • Upper Class (business): ~35,000 Virgin points one-way → approximately 27,000 UR needed with the bonus.
This is the third Chase→Virgin Atlantic bonus in 2026 (after a 40% window February 14–28 and a 30% window in late 2025). Virgin Atlantic does not fly from SFO nonstop, but Flying Club miles redeem on Delta (SkyTeam partner), which operates transatlantic routes from SFO.

PAL oneworld integration: insider roadmap surfaced (unconfirmed)

A Reddit post in r/awardtravel from a user identifying as an insider described Philippine Airlines' oneworld integration roadmap in detail on June 9. 15 The poster flagged the source as an "informal dinner discussion" and advised readers to "take it with a grain of salt."
Key points from the post: PAL is targeting June 30, 2027 for full oneworld membership with reciprocal awards and mileage earning. The current Mabuhay award chart will be revised — the poster compared the expected outcome to the Alaska model, with a trans-Pacific business class floor likely at 70,000+ miles (current rates are 58,000–67,000). Fuel surcharges will remain on award tickets. Partner award space will be a subset of current availability (currently Qatar Airways and Qantas have matching availability, which may narrow after joining). A new third-tier elite status at roughly 65,000–80,000 status miles is planned, targeting oneworld Emerald.
PAL serves SFO nonstop (SFO–MNL) and is the main carrier for Bay Area travelers to the Philippines. The shift to oneworld would open earning and redemption via American AAdvantage, British Airways Avios, Cathay Asia Miles, and JAL Mileage Bank on PAL metal. The roadmap also mentioned early-stage discussions with US credit card partners (Citi, Amex, Chase, Capital One) about transferable currency relationships — no agreements announced.
The timeline and details should be treated as unconfirmed. As the poster wrote, "the Philippines way of doing business" means announced timelines tend to slip.

Lufthansa First partner space reported closed (unconfirmed)

A June 10 Reddit thread in r/awardtravel reported that Lufthansa First Class award space for partner bookings was turned off "a few days ago." 16 This is a single community report — no official Lufthansa statement has been issued, and no second data point has confirmed it as of this writing. LH First is redeemable from SFO via connections at Frankfurt (FRA) or Munich (MUC) on programs including Aeroplan, United MileagePlus, and Turkish Miles & Smiles. If you have a pending LH First redemption, check current availability in your booking tool before assuming space is still accessible.
